I am interested in the possibilities the practice of painting allows me. It serves my creative interests and is the voice for things I cannot put into words. My approach to painting includes glimpses of my interior design training as well as a fascination with textiles and the female form. At first glance the viewer will see a subtle order to my work, but a prudent inspection will reveal that impulsiveness rules.
I collage layer over layer then using numerous tools and oil colors, reveal and hide the information as a means to deduct what is relevant. The surfaces are left with a rich topography, adorned with marks and painterly gestures that are expressive and rely heavily on the relationship between objects of beauty and pattern. I am a participant in these unions. That is to say, that in the act of painting I can occupy the same space as the relevant details of my work.
